Design of Rounded 7-LEDs Strip with TinkerCAD

In this entry, we describe the procedure to design a rounded 7-LEDs strip, based on ws8212, with TinkerCAD.

The expected result after following this steps is shown:

Here, you can find the STL file with the solution:

Instructions

The first thing we need to do is to add our ruler to the workplane.

The PCB with rounded shape will be created from a cylinder of dimensions 24×24 mm as the base and 2 mm of height. Increase the number of sides to 64 to make its appearance more rounded. Place it at the left-bottom corner, coordinate (0,0,0) mm.

LEDs are cubes of dimensions of 5x5x1 mm. First LED will be placed at coordinate (9.5,9.5,2) mm.

The LED to the right will be placed at coordinate (17.5,9.5,2) mm.

The LED to the left will be placed at coordinate (1.5,9.5,2) mm.

Finally, the rotated cubes the procedure will be to duplicate any of the previous ones, rotate it 60º or 120º, depending on the case and place it at coordinates (12.58,15.5,2) mm, (4.58,15.5,2) mm, (4.58,1.65,2) mm and (12.58,1.65,2) mm.
